Doris Valborg Herzog, age 83, of Bloomington, passed away December 20, 2001. Doris was born January 8, 1918 at the family home in Detroit Lakes, MN to Dr. Oscar and Mrs. Nora Larsen. Doris attended public schols there and in Pasedena, CA, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1936. She also attended UCLA and the Minnesota School of Business. Doris proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. After the war, Doris met her husband, Francis ``Fritz'' Herzog. The two were married on January 4, 1947. Together they had six children. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz; her daughter, Martha Ann Leitz; her parents, Oscar and Nora; and her brothers, Erling, Einar and Harold. Doris is survived by her brother, Adolph; her sons, John (Colleen), Charles (Aileen) and Thomas (Sharon); her daughters, Joann (Jon) Heimsness and Cathy (John) L'Heureux; her son-in-law, David Leitz; and her twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband Fritz at Calvary Cemetery in Austin, MN on Saturday, January 26 at 11:00 AM. A private memorial service will follow. Doris was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
