Harman, Scott 53, died unexpectedly on June 24, 2016. Scott was a kind, humble and deeply thoughtful man. He was a devoted and passionate father, brother, son, friend and husband who enriched his family with his connection to nature, music and all things organic. He relished long walks with the family dogs, first Jake and then Greta. His gentle yet incredibly strong touch held his family tightly and made them feel safe. Scott was a brilliant social worker who dedicated his career to early childhood mental health work - as a learner, clinician, teacher and leader. He brought his passion and expertise to St. David's Center for the past 24 years and to the University of MN, where he pioneered early childhood training for community professionals. His impact on professionals through formal consultation and personal conversations was profound. How these clinicians now approach working with families with young children will be felt for generations and will truly be his professional legacy. Scott is survived by his wife Suzanne and their beloved daughters Emily and Leah, his parents Marcia and Bob and his brother Mike. A memorial service will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church, Saturday, July 2 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Scott D. Harman Memorial Fund c/o Justin Antonides, Wells Fargo Bank, 4712 Chicago Ave, Mpls, MN 55407.
