Hanley, Fred "Coach" Age 78 of Mound, MN. Long-time teacher and coach at Mound Westonka High School, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Fred was born March 12, 1938 to John M. Hanley and Mary Rogowski Hanley in LaSalle, IL. He was a 1956 graduate of Mendota, IL High School; 1959 graduate of LPO Junior College; and a 1964 graduate of Purdue University where he played football. In 1968 he married the love of his life, Connie Greenwood. They moved to Mound, MN where he was a teacher and coach for 30 years. He retired in 1998. Fred is survived by his wife of 48 years, Connie; son, John (Tina); son, Patrick (Nicole Hempel); grandchildren, Jake, Megan, Abbi, Ryleigh, Skylar, and Jasper (due in December); brother-in-law, Bill Greenwood; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 2385 Commerce Blvd., Mound (952-472-1284). Visitation Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. also at the church, and one hour prior to Mass on Wednesday. Private family interment Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, Minnetrista.
