Klumpner, Raymond George The VFW Hopkins lost a loyal customer April 12 2014 when Raymond George Klumpner, 84, of Hopkins Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his sleep. Raymond was survived by daughters, Deborah Hoops & Georganne Kanthak and son Peter. Also stepdaughters Kay Rain, Donna Amundson, Carol Schubert and stepson Tom Amundson. Grandchildren Emily Niemeyer, Erica Nokelby, Elizabeth Skara, John Stadnik, Aaron Hughes and Jessie Rain. He was preceded in death by parents Wallace & Olga Klumpner, and wife Dolores, brothers Merle & James & sister Thelma Carlson. Raymond was a graduate of St. Louis Park High school and a Veteran of the Korean war. He worked many years for Red Owl. Ray was a history buff, enjoyed building ship models, traveling, gardening and hunting and fishing at his cabin up north. Ray touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. His family will receive friends Wednesday, April 30, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Washburn-McReavy, Hopkins. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery 2:00 PM May 1st.
