Martinsen, Phyllis (Borchardt, nee Frenz) Age 91, of Columbia Heights, passed away peacefully in hospice care surrounded by her loving family. Preceded in death by husbands Richard Borchardt and Alfred Martinsen. Survived by children Rick (Glenda), Rob (Becky), Phil (Carolyn), Randy (Diane), Pat (Lori) and Pam (Ben); grandchildren Melissa (Shawn), Brett (Ania), Nikki, Matt (Laura), Kris, Jon, Rich (Michelle), Craig (Brittni), Brooke (Mike), Blaine, Bryan, Max (Amanda), Jack, Mike, Emma, Maddie, and Michaela; and 8 great-grandchildren. Phyllis grew up in South Minneapolis with her parents and two brothers, Evan and Bill. After World War II, she met and married Dick Borchardt. They settled in a pink house in the middle of Jefferson Street in Columbia Heights where they raised their six children. After Dick passed away, Phyllis met and married Al Martinsen. Phyllis and Al spent the next 26 years traveling the world and having a ball. An avid golfer, Phyllis golfed up to her 90th birthday. She will be deeply missed by her large and loving family.
