Longlet, Marion Kathryn Age 95, of Oakdale, MN, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Born in Hanley Falls, MN on June 26, 1918 to Julian & Eunice Bestland, Marion became a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Growing up on a farm overshadowed by the Great Depression, she lived a life of dignity, humility and hard work. Her infectious sense of humor served to bring smiles and laughter to all those around her. Marion was married to Melvin Longlet on June 23, 1939 and together they raised three boys. She enjoyed serving others through her gifts of hospitality especially the members of Arlington Hills Lutheran Church, her family and friends. Her faith in God sustained her through difficult times and she remained grateful for all of the blessings she daily received. Marion was preceded in death by husband, Melvin; parents, Julian and Eunice Bestland; brother, Hilton (Betty) Bestland and daughter- in-law, Bonnie Longlet. Survived by brothers, Roger (Lois) Bestland, Wayne (Bernice) Bestland; sons, Richard, Donald (Margaret) and Tom (Linda); six grandchildren, Timothy (Rebecca) Longlet, David (Monica) Longlet, Benjamin (Julie) Longlet, Elizabeth (Joshua) Johnston, Michael and Anne Longlet; twelve great- grandchildren. Memorial service 11 AM Thursday 4/24 at Arlington Hills Lutheran Church, 1115 Greenbrier St., St. Paul with a visitation 1 hour prior to service. Private interment at Union Cemetery.
