Russell, Patricia Lynn 1961- 2014. Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee Jeremiah 1:5 KJV. Patricia Lynn Russell, 52, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, March 21, 2014. Patricia was born on December 18, 1961, the second daughter to the late Carl Russell and Virginia Russell in Minneapolis, MN. Patty, as she was known to many, grew up in South Minneapolis and was raised by her mother and grandmother, Prudence Brady. She attended church at St. Peter's A.M.E. and Zion Baptist Church and leaned on her faith in God throughout her life. She graduated from Washburn High School in 1979 and went on to earn a B.S. degree in Accounting from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, and an M.A. degree in Accounting from the University of Denver. While at both universities, Patricia maintained a GPA between 3.9 - 4.0. Patricia held several positions in banking and accounting. She was active in the National Association of Black Accountants and a Vice President (1981) in the Business Association of Minorities while at the U. Patricia's family was exceptionally proud of her educational and professional accomplishments, particularly her achievement in passing the CPA exam the first time around, putting her in the top 5% of individuals across the country making that accomplishment. Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Carl Russell; her uncle and aunt Harlan Russell, Jr. and Lucille Russell; and her grandparents, Levi Brady and Prudence Brady, and Harlan Russell, Sr. and Ethel Russell. She is survived by her mother, Virginia Russell and sister, Pamela Russell; her uncles Levi Brady (Yvonne) and Egbert Brady (Anna Mae) and a host of cousins, relatives and close friends who will remember her dearly.
