Ludden, Frederick Lowell age 91, of Hendersonville, NC, died peacefully on September 28, 2013. Born on August 9, 1922 in Mineral Point, Wisconsin to parents Frederick V. and Daisy Ludden. After serving in the US Army in WWII, he attended Cornell University, receiving a Mechanical Engineering degree. He had a 30 year career with the 3M Company as a salesman and senior marketing manager. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, tennis, skiing, and golf. Fred was an avid reader and his curiosity led his continued pursuit of knowledge for the full length of his life. Dedicated to his family and friends he paid attention to and appreciated the uniqueness of each relationship in his life. In 1992, Fred married Judy Tuller Stepp, also of Hendersonville. Fred is survived by his wife, Judy Ludden; daughters, Catherine Ludden (Eric Rothenberg) of New York, Nancy Ludden (Alan Schendlinger) of Minnesota, Janet Ludden (John Fett) of Minnesota; son, Rick Stepp (Allison O'Neill) of Georgia; daughter, Julie Stepp of Louisiana; granddaughters, Lindsay Rothenberg and Masha Role both of New York; grandson, Robbie Wheaton of Louisiana. Fred is predeceased by wife, Patricia Ludden. A celebration of life will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, Hendersonville, NC, Oct. 7, 11:00 am.
