Markos, Thomas "Tom" Age 88 of Mpls. Completed his 25th and final mission on Aug. 11, 2013, destination Heaven. Born in LaCrosse, WI on October 26, 1924 to Thomas and Selma. He enlisted into the USAF in 1942. As a bombardier he flew 24 missions over Europe. Back home, he married Mary Howe in May 1950. He and Mary raised their 5 children in La Crescent. Tom worked at Sears in advertising, in LaCrosse. In 1961 he was promoted to Advertising Manager and moved his Family to Mpls. Tom retired from Sears after 38 years. He and Mary spent retirement by traveling, time with family and volunteer work. Tom was a member of The Twelve Apostles at his church. He loved sailing, fishing, gardening, and oil painting. All will miss his humor - "kiss me you fool" and command of the kitchen at family gatherings where he would make his signature dish, Ruz N Yukhnee. He was in the Air Force reserve and was retired a Lt. Col. He was a faithful husband to Mary and took good care of her. He was a loving father, Jido and Grand Jido. He was met in Heaven by his parents, brothers Joe, George, Louis, sister Mary and granddaughter Karen. On earth he will be missed by his beloved wife; children Laurie Schnell (John), Mike, Tony, Joe (Barb) and Peggy Woodling (Matt); 13 grandkids; 3 great-grandkids; his sister Sally Shaheen (John); brother Mike (Audrey); The "Navigators"; other family and friends.
