Nassauer, Fred (Manfred) age 101, of St. Louis Park, died peacefully in his home on August 9, 2013. Born September 26th, 1911 to Sally and Clara (Oestreich) Nassauer in Darmstadt, Germany. He had a beautiful younger sister, Ilse. His family perished in the Holocaust. Thanks to the support from his mother's friend, Ebba Kurtz (Nielson), in 1938 he emigrated to Minneapolis, Minnesota and lived with Ebba's sister and husband, Audrey "Toots" and Pete Peterson. He was forever grateful for these acts of kindness. He started as a janitor at Silent Sales (Viking Enterprises) where he met his future wife Shirley Diamond and remained with the organization throughout his career, eventually being granted an equity position. He served honorably and proudly as an interpreter for the U.S. Army in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and loving wife. He is survived by his sons, Kerry and Rob and their families: Kerry's ex-wife Ki, daughter, Taylor (fiancé Ben Newmark), and son, Tyson; Rob's wife Joan, daughters Sarah (Jerome Tagger) and Mae; great-granddaughters, Aida and Nica. He enjoyed meat and potatoes and four teaspoons of sugar in his coffee every day. He was a good provider and a man of strong heart, mind and conviction. We thank Barbara Diamond and her family, Allina Hospice Services, Synergy HomeCare and Collen Garland. Funeral services 1:30 P.M. MONDAY, at the ADATH YESHURAN CEMETERY, 56TH & France Ave. S., Edina.
