Chapman, Donald L. age 89 of Brooklyn Park, born Feb. 18, 1927; died May 26, 2016, at home surrounded by family. Beloved father, grandfather, and husband of Gayle for 49 years. Third child of Cecelia Beaudette and Cecil Chapman. Preceded in death by siblings, Cliff, Lorraine, Chuck, and Jim. Survived by brother, Tom; wife, Gayle; son, Joe (Shanara); daughter, Katherine (Tom); granddaughter, Ivy; cousin, Gary Wadtke; nieces and nephews. Don served in the Merchant Marines during WW II and later in the Army. Before starting his own publishing company, Don was a successful salesman and educator. Through his own publishing company, Upton Advertising, he worked with many Chambers of Commerce throughout the state, especially the Anoka Area Chamber. A special thank you to the amazing care team of Open Circle Adult Daycare and North Memorial Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial Tues. 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Gerard, 9600 Regent Ave. N., Brooklyn Park. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
