Julia Sletten Benson

Benson, Julia Sletten age 98, of Mpls. Born in Mobridge, South Dakota. Graduated from Willmar High School. Attended St. Cloud Teachers College. Graduated from Augsburg College in 1942. Longtime teacher in St. Paul Schools retiring in 1975. Preceded in death by husband, Marvin C. Benson; sister, Irene and brothers, Owen, Earl, Harold and Rolf. Survived by daughters, Jan Benson of Mpls. and Lynn (John) Hjelmeland of Edina; grandchildren, Jennifer Hjelmeland, Joanna (Charles) Hartwell, Mark Hjelmeland and Laura Hjelmeland; great-grandchildren, Alia Stewart, Trygg Stewart, Jack Hartwell and Cecelia Hartwell. Julia was a 60- year member of Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church, active in Bible study and choir. Memorial Service Saturday, February 2, 3:00 PM at Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church, 5011 31st. Ave. S. Mpls.
