Jewell, Ralph Walter Age 79, of Mendota Hts., MN, passed away May 15, 2016. Born November 4, 1936 in St. Paul, MN to George and Minnie Jewell. Ralph was an avid outdoorsman. He loved gardening, fishing, boating, skiing and bird hunting. Some of his favorite times were spent with family and best friends enjoying these hobbies. Ralph also was an entrepreneur by nature. He started as a farmer in his teenage years and during college he and his frat brothers started a small business as a way to fund their college expenses. Ralph's first career was as a manager for IDS. During his IDS days, he and his dad started acquiring residential rental properties and turned it into a thriving, three-generation business. One of his many legacies will be the people in his life whom he mentored in the business of owning and managing rental properties. In 2007, Ralph was diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment that led to Alzheimer's disease. True to his personality, he was a happy and active person for many years of his diagnosis. Those who cared for him loved being with him and being the recipients of his constant "thank yous" and big, wonderful smile.
