Chase, Shirley I. 56 of Little Canada, MN died October 2, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Tim Byrne, her mother, Sedelia Chase, her sister, Audrey Chase, brother, Larry Chase (Kim) and brothers and sisters-in-law, Sharon, Mary, Tom, Peggy, Pat (Rachel Blank), Rose (Mark Leutgeb), Kris; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father, Melvin Chase and brothers-in-law, Mike and Joe. Shirley graduated from St. Louis Park High School, the University of Minnesota and William Mitchell College of Law. She owned Chase Law and was a successful corporate and personal attorney. She was a former Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 6th at 2 p.m. at 736 Carla Lane, Little Canada. A reception will follow at Hillcrest County Club at 2200 Larpenter Ave. at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation are preferred.
