Nelson, Jane Sonya (Evanoff) age 79, of Blaine, formerly of Mound, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Tom and Mary Evanoff. Survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Jim; daughters, Tracy Johnson and Lynette Nelson; grandchildren, Amanda, Dylan and Gabrielle; great grandchildren, Jadah and Malakai; brother, Nick Evanoff (Frankie); brother-in-law, Clayton Nelson; sister-in-law, Nancy Holzahauer; and several nieces and nephews. She was born and raised in Mound, MN. She retired from Wayzata School District. Jane and her family enjoyed many camping trips and attending Jim's softball games. She enjoyed her trips to Mexico and Branson. She was also an avid Gopher basketball fan. Jane was a devoted wife, and loving mother and she loved her grandchildren. Memorial service on Wednesday, May 11th at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2451 Fairview Lane, Mound, MN 55364. Visitation one hour prior to service with luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, all memorials will be sent to the Allina Hospice Foundation in honor of Jane Sonya Nelson. Our family would like to thank our mother's hospice care team, expecially nurse Ann and music therapist Sarah, and the Mercy Hospital 2nd floor infusion center.
