Wright, Judith Holden ‘Judy' Beloved wife to Charles Edwin (Charlie), mother to C. John and Joanne (Reierson), grandmother to Erin, Margaret, and Claire Wright and Nils and Risor Reierson, passed away in the presence of Charlie, Joanne and John on Thursday, February 2, 2012. She is best remembered for her philanthropy, hospitality, strength and heart. Judy was a member of Castleton United Methodist Church, Alpha Chi Omega, Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO, Chapter AF) and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Judy was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, a den mother, a baseball and softball team mother and active in her children's parent teacher organization. She constantly welcomed family, friends and neighbors into her home for meals, drinks and company and she always had an unlimited capacity to serve and care for those who entered her home. She was always the first to check in on friends and colleagues, making food and visiting them when the need arose. She traveled often to see her children and grandchildren, no matter where in the world they were living. Judy grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the middle child of Harold L. and Harriet T. Holden. Upon graduation from Washburn High School in 1959, she moved to Indiana to attend DePauw University, graduating in 1963. She met her husband Charlie in the fall of 1963 when he was home on leave from the US Air Force. During their courtship, she completed her Masters degree in social work at Indiana University in 1965 before their wedding on June 26, 1965. Judy is also survived by her brothers Harold L. Holden, Jr. of Wayzata, MN and George T. Holden, of Edina, MN. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts, but her memory will continue to enrich us every day. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Judy's memory to Castleton United Methodist Church (castletonumc.org/…), the PEO Foundation (donations.peo international.org/) or your favorite charity. Funeral services and callings will be held at Castleton United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana and the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend in person at castletonumc.org/…. Friends and family are invited to gather from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm Monday, February 6 at Castleton United Methodist Church, and again on Tuesday, February 7 from 10:00 am until the service time at 11:00 am.
