Zaun, Gregory P. Aug. 21, 1967 to August 26, 2011 Funeral Services will be at 11:30 AM Friday, September 2, 2011 at Church of St. Paul in St. Cloud, MN for Gregory Peter Zaun, age 44, of San Diego, CA, who died suddenly at his home on Friday, August 26, 2011. Rev. Alan Wielinski will officiate. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud, MN. Family and friends may call from 5:30-8:30 PM Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the church in St. Cloud. St. Paul's Parish prayers will be at 6:30 PM on Thursday at the funeral home in St. Cloud. Gregg was born on August 21, 1967 to Dennis and Karen (Beckman) Zaun in Golden Valley, MN. He was an accomplished photographer who cherished time spent with friends and family. Gregg was also a spinal-cord-injury survivor. Despite health challenges that would have kept others homebound, Gregg believed that life rolls on and had an active lifestyle. Gregg graduated from Cathedral High School and held a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of St. Thomas. In 1993, Gregg moved to San Diego where he earned a Masters of Finance from San Diego State University. In San Diego, Gregg developed his passion for pictures. He studied photography for many years and excelled at capturing images of the ocean and rock formations near his home. He traveled often, including trips to Australia, Mexico, Spain, and Hawaii and throughout the United States. He was warm and caring and will be sorely missed by all who loved him. Gregg is survived by his father and mother, Dennis and Karen Zaun of St. Cloud; siblings, Todd Zaun of St. Cloud, and Steve Zaun of Marina del Rey, CA; sisters-in-law, Kyoko (Ogawa) Zaun of St. Cloud, MN and Priscilla Haag of Marina del Rey, CA; niece, Emma Zaun of St. Cloud; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and long-time friends. Gregg was preceded in death by his grandparents; his uncles, Dr. George Kajala and Loren Gunderman and his aunt, Helen Zaun.
