Wilhelm, John W. Age 89, of Brooklyn Park, passed away on April 28, 2011 at his home. Retired 33 year employee of Star Tribune. Veteran WWII, U.S. Army serving in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theaters. Lifetime member of Palmer Lake VFW, Brooklyn Park. Preceded in death by son, John C. Wilhelm. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Charlotte; daughter, Susan (Douglas) Ahlstrom; 4 grandchildren; 3 great- grandchildren; sister, Vivian Hall; brother, Jim; many relatives and good friends. Visitation at church 1 hour before service. Mass of Christian Burial 1pm Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 7025 Halifax Avenue N., Brooklyn Center (763-561-5100).
