Gaertner, Marjorie Mae (Benson) Age 86 of Mpls. passed away March 7, 2011. Preceded in death by parents, Oscar Benson and Blanche (Benson) Fjoseide and stepfather, Steiner Fjoseide; brothers, Bernard Benson and Robert Benson. Survived by son, Steve (Kathy) Gaertner; daughters, Lisa (Phil) Ramacher, Nancy Gaertner and Susan Gaertner; grandchildren, Kelly Gaertner, Andrew Ramacher, Sarah Gaertner, Peter Ramacher, Ryan Gaertner and Laura Ramacher; nieces, nephew, other family and friends. Marge grew up in Superior, WI and followed her caring nature to become a Registered Nurse at Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis, retiring from Abbott Northwestern Hospital's Orthopedics Station 24 in 1990. She was an accomplished crafts painter and delighted in making gifts for her family and friends. As a mother, Marge provided for her kids and gave them unconditional love, encouragement and values to live by. She relished staying in touch with family, neighbors & friends, and fellow Abbott Nursing School classmates and hospital nurses. She will be dearly missed by all who have known her positive attitude, caring, generous, and selfless spirit. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff at NC Little Hospice for their compassionate care of Marge during the last few weeks of her life. Memorial Service Friday, March 18th, 11 AM at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave. South, Mpls. Visitation one hour before service. Reception to follow service.
