John J. Doherty

Doherty, John J. 89, died September 19, 2010 of prostate cancer in San Diego, CA, where he had been a resident since 2004. Survived by wife of 56 years, Patricia Dillon; five daughters, Elizabeth (Dave Ryba), Mary Jane, Nancy (Mike Prendergast), Jean, and Sally (Christopher Franceschelli); grandchildren, Dillon, Jack, Luke, Ben, and Anna; sisters-in-law, Uva Dillon and Ann Dillon, brother-in-law, Jim Orput, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother, Richard T. Lifelong resident of Minneapolis; military service during two wars; well-respected attorney for over 50 years. Private service. Memorials preferred to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, (1500 Franklin Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414-3697). An honorable man, a wonderful father, he will be sorely missed.
