McNally, Thomas Joseph A resident of Stamford, CT, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Stamford Hospital. Born on May 17, 1920 in New Richmond, WI, he was the son of the late Thomas and Agnes McNally. He was 90. Tom was a career advertising man in New York City. He was devoted to his two families, the Murphy-McNally Clan of Wisconsin and Minneapolis, and his family in Alcoholics Anonymous. A member of AA for over 45 years, Tom was a mentor, sponsor and inspiration to countless others struggling with addiction. His counsel, support, empathy and wicked humor touched and saved so many. He was blessed with abundance of friends and relationships, and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by numerous cousins and his AA family. He was predeceased by his loving cousins, Honor McIlwain and Margaret McFarland. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan, 178 Oenoke Ridge Road, New Canaan on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place in New Richmond, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Suite 159, Wilton, CT 06897 or the American Lung Association of Connecticut, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
