Tanick, Esther Age, 88, of St. Louis Park, passed away peacefully on September 10th, 2010. Preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Temma Kohn and brothers, Sig Kohn and Ben Kohn, and husband Jack. Survived by children, Marshall Tanick (Cathy Gorlin) and Phyllis (Charles) Newman, and grandchildren, Lauren (Boris) Epshteyn and Ross Tanick; nieces and nephews, and her cat, Janice. Esther was born and raised in Minneapolis and was fiercely devoted to her children, family, and community where she became well known for writing witty musical parodies which she loved to compose and perform. She was an assistant manager at the Shoppers City store in St. Louis Park for many years and received awards for her valuable service. In her later years she volunteered with a number of organizations, including the Sholom Home West in St. Louis Park where she worked at the receptionist desk and deli and was well recognized by many who resided there, their family members, guests, visitors, and employees. A special thanks to the staff and caregivers at North Memorial Hospital for their service in easing her final days. Funeral service WEDNESDAY, September 15th, 2010 at 1:00 pm at ADATH JESHURUN CONGREGATION, 10500 Hillside Lane West, Minnetonka. Donations preferred to the Jack and Esther Tanick Children's Fund at Bet Shalom Synagogue or Sholom Home West in St. Louis Park.
