Daly, Janet Clark age 76 of Chisago City, formerly of St. Paul, passed into eternal glory on March 10, 2016 at her home surrounded by the love of family and friends. Her memorial mass service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 2nd at The Church of St. Genevieve's Community Center, 6995 Centerville Rd., Centerville, MN. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. Paul, MN. Jan was born July 8, 1939 in St. Paul to Howard and Frances Clark. She graduated from St. Agnes High School in St. Paul, MN. She was a former member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame and received a BA in Education and Mathematics from Mount Mary College, Milwaukee, WI; completed graduate work in mathematics at Catholic University in Washington D.C.; received a MA in Religious Studies at Loyola University in Chicago, IL; received Certificates in Spirituality from Holy Name College, Oakland, CA and in Spiritual Direction from Fordham University, Bronx, NY. Jan's professional experience included teacher of grades 5-8 in Catholic Schools in Minnesota, teacher of grades 9-12 (math, theology, liturgy coordinator) at Good Counsel Academy, Mankato, MN, Trinity HS, Dickinson, ND, and Bishop Ryan HS, Minot, ND. She was Associate Director of Religious Education, Diocese of Bismarck, ND, Diocesan Director of Religious Education, Diocese of New Ulm, MN, Pastoral Associate, Little Flower Parish, Minot, ND, and Director of Religious Education at St. Pius X Parish, Old Tappan, NJ. Jan and Bill Daly were married on August 8, 1994 at St. Columba Catholic Church in St. Paul MN. They made their home in Park Ridge, NJ until retirement in 2005. At that time they moved to Minnesota to live in a townhome community on Chisago Lake. Winter months were spent in Mesa, AZ. In the Church of St. Genevieve, Jan was a Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, and member of the Social Justice Committee. She also belonged to the social action group, Chisago County Friends of the Homeless, which provides furniture and other items to families that are enrolled in the New Pathways program based in Cambridge, MN. The townhome community, The Shores of Eagle Ridge, greatly benefited from her leadership and positive spirit as director of social activities for the past ten years. She was an active participant in many sports, including basketball, softball, ice skating, and swimming. She especially cherished her swims with Bill in Chisago Lake. Jan is survived by husband, Bill, sisters, Kay (Dave) Lund, Ruth Lambert, 10 nieces and nephews, 16 grandnieces and grandnephews, 7 great grand nieces and great grand nephews, and other relatives and friends. Her parents, Howard & Frances Clark, preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to School Sisters of Notre Dame Mankato or Theresa Living Center St. Paul.
