Casey, Charles Richard age 66, of Forest Lake, MN, died August 12, 2010, at his home, ending his 5-year long, courageous battle with multiple myeloma. He will be missed by his wife of 16 years, Cindy Oaks Casey; daughters, Christine Casey (Steven) Wawrzaszek, Cathleen Casey (Eric) Olson, Colleen Casey (Kurt Keogh); stepdaughter, Sara Bennett (David) Plunket; grandchildren, Jonathan and Katie Wawrzaszek, Matthew and Emily Olson, Justin and Regan Taylor, Keegan and Morgan Plunket; sisters, Mary Carlson, Elizabeth (Charles) Irwin; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Casey; mother, Elizabeth Schiable Casey, and brother, Michael Casey. Chuck was born June 1, 1944, in St. Paul, MN. He attended Cretin High School and Hill High School, continued his education at St. John's University, MN and finished his bachelor's degree at University of Wisconsin - River Falls. He served our community, working in corrections for 35 years in Ramsey County and 5 years in Chisago County, was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church for 34 years and enjoyed volunteering as a Forest Lake community youth sports coach. Chuck was devoted to his family, faith and friends. He enjoyed lake-living, traveling, gardening, family gatherings, ministering to others and celebrating the holidays in full spirit. Chuck lived each day fully and now is resting in peace with the Lord. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2010, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 4 - 8 p.m, with a time to share memories at 7 p.m. Sunday at Mattson's Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation will continue 9-10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
