Wagner, Christian J. Age 85, of Hopkins, succumbed to cancer on July 26, 2010. Christian Johannes Wagner, a son born through love to Johannes and Margarethe Wagner was the second child to grace the household in addition to his sister Ingeborg in Bischoff, East Saxony, Germany. A lighthearted and somewhat mischievous child, Christian was drafted into the German People's Army at the tender age of 16. The war served as a testing ground for his unbreakable spirit and pervasive love of mankind. Wed to Tatiana while still in Germany, the Wagners moved to the United States in the early 1950s. Already a physician, Christian furthered his education and specialized in anesthesiology, completing his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He spent the majority of his career working at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN. On July 26, 2010, Christian passed quietly and peacefully. Preceded in death by his father, Johannes; mother, Margarethe; sister, Ingeborg; wife, Tatiana and a single stillborn son.
