After growing up in Sandstone, MN, Gen lived for many years in Owatonna & Stillwater, Minnesota where she was very active in Lutheran Church women's groups and hospital auxiliary. She loved to play bridge and have coffee with her friends. She wrote short stories. She and her first husband, Phil, loved to dance. Her house and flower gardens were always important to her. She was a great mother. She spent two years in Fort Greeley, Alaska (US Army) with her second husband, Wells. Even the 24 hours of darkness during the winter there did not lessen her positive attitude displayed towards those around her. This attitude was still in place during the final eleven years of her life at Presbyterian Homes on Lake Minnetonka. Staff there commented frequently that Gen always had a kind word for them and was appreciative of their assistance. This was true through her final comments as she headed into a far better place. Memorial service 11:00 AM Saturday, July 3 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2451 Fairview Lane, Mound, with visitation one hour prior to the service at CHURCH and reception to follow. Internment, St. John's Lutheran Church Memorial Garden. Memorials preferred to the St. John's Lutheran Church Foundation of Mound.
