Hirt, Charles C. (Chuck) Chuck Hirt, Child of God, was born on 11/30/47 in Isanti, MN. Chuck joined the US Air Force in 1965, and went to Texas for training, where he was distinguished by being appointed flight and then squadron leader. Chuck was given the highest security clearance and sent to South Ruislip Air Force Base, London, England, to maintain and repair their most secure comm equipment. Upon leaving the Air Force, Chuck returned to school and worked in various part-time jobs, eventually finding his way into the automotive industry, where he remained for over 30 years as a salesman at Luther Toyota City/Brook-dale Toyota. Chuck was instrumental in introducing the then-new profession of personal coaching to the Midwest, and those techniques served him in all his future endeavors. During that time, Chuck found his true passion for helping people find their way out of the bondage of addiction through the saving grace of Jesus Christ. He became a licensed Christian counselor, and served for several years as a member, then President, of the Board of MetroHope Recovery Ministries. He took great joy in counseling, mentoring and supporting many people, and spoke at numerous church services, recovery ministries and events about what the Lord had done in his life. He loved his church family at Trinity Lutheran of Minnehaha Falls, and was also very active there. Chuck was known for his love for Jesus, caring for others, his sense of fun, and larger-than-life personality. He had a gift for making people feel special and included, and it was impossible to be very serious when Chuck was around (except on the golf course!). Chuck was taken home to glory on Friday, February 5th, after a 2-year struggle with cancer. Up to shortly before his passing, he was alert, joyful and loving, and looking forward to everlasting life with Jesus. He is survived by wife, Kristen, daughter and son-in-law Kara and Bren Andrews, granddaughters Aubrie and soon-to-be-born baby Andrews, and sister-in-law Melody Pauling, all of Minneapolis, many other dear relatives, and numerous friends. We are so proud of our Chuck, and look forward to all being together in Heaven.
