Karpuszko, Kazimir (1925-2009) died suddenly August 29, 2009 in Minneapolis, MN. Kazimir was born in Budslaw, Poland and served with the British Army at the end of WW2. He continued to serve in Italy and England. He came to live in Chicago where continued his education, receiving a Master of Science in Art Education. He studied photography with Aaron Suskind and Harry Callahan. He also worked with Bruno Bettlelheim from 1957-1963, researching and filming the visual artistic expressions of autistic children at the School for Special Education at the University of Chicago. He became involved in the Structurist Art movement as a dealer, author and curator. Kazimir married Margaret Hammond in 1955 and they had five children. He and his family moved to Minneapolis in 1973 where he continued to deal in art. Kazimir is survived by his ex-wife, Margaret Hammond and his children Marina, Stefan, Vincent, Katrina and Lara, as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, whom he called his cherubinos.
