Mayberg, Betty 81, passed away on April 30th at home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was a dynamic and passionate woman whose energy touched everyone she came into contact with. Her relationship with her husband Don was legendary, her art captured her spirit and her family and friends benefited from her enthusiasm and humor. Betty was a Minnesota native raised in Minneapolis where she received a degree in Studio Arts from The University of MN. She continued her art studies at The American Academy in Rome, The Walker Art Center and The Minnetonka Center for the Arts. Her art work has been exhibited in many venues, she had several one-person gallery shows, and her paintings have received many awards and recognition in numerous juried shows. Betty's paintings are displayed by many individuals and businesses not only in Minnesota but throughout the country. While Betty was terrifically gifted as an artist, her first priority was always her husband and her family. Betty and Don were inseparable for 34 years until his death. Until that time no one ever saw one without the other, and in fact is chronicled in the "kissing" photo album. They lovingly blended their families and were intimately involved in the lives of 8 children, 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Betty had a unique and special relationship with each individual. Family and friends enjoyed Betty's charm, her wit and her laughter. She was keenly aware of what was going on in the world and around her at all times. Betty had style and taste and a flair that was reflected in her dress, her house and her outlook on life. Whether it was ballet, music, football, champagne or beer, refined or raucous Betty was comfortable with all. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Don Mayberg and is survived by her loving sister, Jean White, children Lisa Serposs, Anni Abrahamson Davis, Sue Montermini, step children, Stephen Mayberg, Susan Mayberg Coombes, Marc Mayberg, Nancy Mayberg Addington and Barbara Mayberg Pearson, and their spouses and children. The family is having a public service on May 15th at 12 noon at The Chapel at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis with a reception to follow at The Woman's Club at 410 Oak Grove Street in Minneapolis. Memorials and donations should be sent to The Minnetonka Center for the Arts. Arr. Twin Cities Cremation 612-866-6711
