Stender, Eleonor "ELLY" Our dear ELLY... passed away April 3, 2009, surrounded by loving family. She will be missed by many, but not forgotten. Born in Hollywood Township, MN, July 2, 1921. Married Harold Stender in 1941, farmed in New Germany, raising 6 children. They moved to Norwood, MN and owned the Dix-El Motel. Elly retired in Waconia. She enjoyed dear friends thru Am. Legion Auxiliary, card club, bowling league, gardening and church. Survived by daughters, Bette Noble (Terry), Jane Saltvold (Erik); and sons, James Stender, Alan Stender (Rhonda), Kevin Stender (Julie); 10 grandchildren and 8 gr. grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Harold; daughter, Lynette; daughter-in-law, Linnea Stender; by parents, Gerhard and Anna; step-mom, Emma; sister, Rubina. Services: Wed., April 8, 11 a.m. Trinity Lutheran Church Waconia, with visitation Tues., 5-8 p.m. Johnson Funeral Home Waconia 952-442-2121 and 1 hr. prior to the service at the church.
