BeVier, Joseph Hasbrouck BeVier, Rella Jane Page Joseph, Sept. 8, 1918 - Mar. 19, 2009 Rella Jane, July 21, 1920 - Mar. 25, 2009 Joe, a lifelong resident of Minneapolis, attended Lake Harriet Elementary School and graduated in the January 1936 class of West High School. Graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1942. Married the love of his life, Rella Jane Page, on October 25, 1943. World War II Veteran, Lieutenant JG, USN, served on the USS Independence as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer in the Pacific theater. Owned and operated Precision Controls Company designing and manufacturing the first power steering units for tractors and road machinery. Joe started Hydraulic Service Incorporated in 1963 in his garage and grew the company to employ as many as 10 people serving the hydraulic needs of the south side of the Twin Cities and beyond. He was a past President of Chapter 5 of The International Fluid Power Society and was honored with a lifetime membership in that international society. He was a member and officer of the Construction Equipment Maintenance Association in the 1980's. Member of Lake Harriet Masonic Lodge. Joe was an avid golfer and long time member of Minnesota Valley Country Club. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Ruth BeVier; brothers, Condit, Albert and William. Rella Jane, a lifelong resident of Minneapolis, attended Lake Harriet Elementary School and graduated in the January 1938 class of West High School. Attended the University of Minnesota. Member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Rella Jane, affectionately known as "Dusty", was accountant and bookkeeper for Hydraulic Services, Inc., an accomplished seamstress, knitter, homemaker and beloved Mother and Grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Joseph; parents, Sidney and Helen Page; sister, Ruth. Survived by brother, Howard K. Page (Kathy). Joseph and Rella Jane are survived by daughters, JoAnna Yund (Robert), Karlyn McCoy, Condit Bouten (Robert) and Janell BeVier; grandchildren, Robert Yund (Anne), Joseph Yund (Charlotte), Benjamin McCoy, Thomas McCoy (Adelynn), Molly McCoy Brooks (Shawn), Ryan Bouten (Kathy), Wendy Morrow; great- grandchildren, Landan bouten, Madison, Kinsey and Laycie Morrow, Madelyn and Katelyn Bouten, Aaron Yund, Alexandra Yund and Maya Lee McCoy. A memorial service will be held May 2, 2009 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Avenue South at 2:00 PM. A celebration of their lives together will take place at Minnesota Valley Country Club following the memorial service.
