Heffelfinger, Frank Totton, II of Eden Prairie, passed away peacefully in Palm Desert, California on February 9. Mr. Heffelfinger, age 86, is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; children Thomas (Janine), Heidi (Steven Todd) and Frank III; by granddaughters Laura and Julia; grandsons Rutger and Peter; three step-grandchildren; brothers Mark and Christopher (Kit), and sister Lila Coleman; and by many, many loving friends. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Totton, his mother Mildred, his stepmother Elsworth (Fritzie) and his brother, Jack. Frank graduated from The Blake School and attended Stanford University and the University of Minnesota. During WWII he served as a fighter pilot in the US Navy. Following the war, Frank joined the Peavey Company where he retired as an Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors after 37 years of service. Frank's professional resume included civic leadership positions as a director of the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce, the Soo Line Railroad, the National Grain and Feed Dealers Association; Farmers & Mechanics Bank and the Hennepin County Red Cross. An avid golfer, Frank was a member of the Minikahda Club and the Ironwood Country Club of Palm Desert, Ca. He was a member of the Minneapolis Club, and the Rotary Club of Minneapolis. Memorials may be sent to the Totton P Memorial Fund at the Minneapolis Foundation, The Blake School, or the Twin Cities chapter of the American Red Cross. A private family burial will be held at Lakewood Cemetery. A public Memorial Service will be held on March 10, 2009 at 3 pm at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 4439 W. 50th St., Edina, MN, 55424.
