Otteson, Susan Kay (Dickhausen) Age 43, of Orono passed away peacefully on December 20, 2008, surrounded by her family. Preceded in death by uncle, John (Jack) Hegerle, grandparents, Anthony (Honey) and Rose Hegerle, Raymond and Beatrice Dickhausen. Survived by her husband, Kirk; sons, Alec and Grant; parents, Roger and Rosemary Dickhausen; in-laws, Shirley and Roger Wikner; Dennis and Janet Otteson; and an extended group of family and friends. Sue's smile was as bright as the morning sun, her spirit as enduring as the stars at night, even in the face of her lingering illness, and her all-too-early death. She was a beautiful tower of strength and courage, a loving wife and the adoring mother of two boys. To know her was to love her. Just ask her family and her scores of friends, who embraced her so fully in life, and who comforted her so warmly as she faced her final weeks and days. She was a best friend to many, and a great friend to all. Sue was born and raised in St. Anthony Village, the beloved child of Rosemary and Roger Dickhausen. She was a graduate of the College of St. Thomas. After marrying the love of her life Kirk, they moved to Orono. She worked for the Minneapolis Downtown Council, Piper Jaffray and the Target Corporation before returning home to raise her sons, Alec and Grant, the most fulfilling job she said she ever held. Her life was filled with the joys of skiing, boating, and jet skiing with Kirk and the boys on the waters of Lake Minnetonka. Sue celebrated every moment of her life to the fullest, surrounding herself with her loving family and friends, never allowing the sunshine of her smile to fade.
