Franz, Bernard Alfred "Ben" age 87, of Plymouth, formerly of Crystal, was peacefully called to his Lord on Saturday, December 13, 2008. Bernard was born in Rosing Township of Morrison County on August 12, 1921, the ninth child of Adolph and Josephine Langeland Franz. Bernard was a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture and a proud member of the United States Army Paratroopers. On March 11, 1950 he married Nina Nelsen of Westbrook, Minnesota and they shared 58 years of life together. Bernard was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Harold, Lester, Fredolin, Anton and Albert; sisters, Grace and Martha. Bernard is survived by his wife, Nina; sons, Joel (Nancy) and Neil (Jean); daughter, Jill (Wendell) Nelson; eight grandchildren; sisters, Luella Nelson and Edna Johnson; brother, William; many other loving relatives and dear friends. A Celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the Wayzata Evangelical Free Church, 705 County Rd. 101, Plymouth, MN 55447. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 PM at Gearty- Delmore Chapel of Plymouth, 37th Ave. No. & Vicksburg Lane and 1 hour prior to service Tuesday at church. Interment Glen Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Gearty-Delmore 763-553-1411
