Abrahamson, Bruce A. Passed away peacefully at home with family and friends. At 83, Bruce lived a full-to-the-brim life marked with a passion for architecture, design and all things beautiful and fun. Preceded in death by parents, Cliff and Adena; sister, Shirley Laursen. Bruce is survived by his wife, Vickie, and his five children: Sue Montermini and grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Geoff, Bryan, and Mara and great- granddaughter Ania; Lisa Serposs and husband Alan and grandchildren David and Michael; Anni Davis, granddaughter Olivia; Tony Abrahamson; Nedret Rix and husband Adam and grandchildren Samuel and Astoria; nephews, David and Dwight Laursen, Taylor and Travis Dyer; nieces, Sandy Berezni and Cheryl Richardson. Bruce was a partner at Hammel, Green and Abrahamson, Architects & Engineers with offices in Minneapolis, Rochester, Milwaukee, San Francisco, Sacramento and Los Angeles. His architecture won numerous regional and national awards and he received the Minnesota Society of Architect's highest award for professional service, the Gold Medal. He was known for his exuberant zest for living. The family is hosting a memorial celebration this Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Minnesota History Center, 345 Kellogg Blvd. West, St Paul at 6:30 pm. Bruce led the HGA team in designing this signature building. In lieu of flowers, please nurture the talents of young architects with a donation to the Bruce Abrahamson Scholarship fund at the University of Minnesota where he taught for twenty years.
