Sutton, Jeanne Eileen Kastner passed away peacefully on December 4, 2015 at Reflections Care Suites in Northfield, Minnesota. She was born to Ruth and Earl (Bud) Kastner on July 17, 1924 in Minneapolis. Jeanne attended North High School, and soon after met Matthew Sutton on a blind date. Matt knew immediately that Jeanne would be his bride, and they were married on October 19, 1946. After their marriage, the couple moved to St. Louis, Missouri and to Columbus, Ohio, where Matt completed his PhD in aeronautical engineering and they started their family. When Matt joined Honeywell, they moved to Edina, where they resided for many active and fulfilling years and made lifelong friendships. Jeanne was a lover of music, theater, musicals, and movies, and playing the piano, and she enthusiastically supported the Minnesota Orchestra and Guthrie Theater. She also loved animals, birds, and children. Jeanne played golf and bridge with dear friends in Minnesota and at the Rio Verde, Arizona home that she and Matt enjoyed for many years. She traveled the world with Matt, and had a special place in her heart for Paris. Jeanne had a wonderful, dry sense of humor. She was petite and always a lady, but had great inner strength. Jeanne was preceded in death by Matt in 2012, after celebrating 66 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Alice (Peg) Giblin and Carol Pickett. Jeanne will be missed by her children, Tom (Tina) Sutton of Lilydale, Minnesota, Nancy Sutton of Burnsville, Minnesota, Barbara (David) Weddel of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Ann (Jim) Gosack of Northfield, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many friends. Special thanks to Mom's caregivers from Visiting Angels, and to the teams at Millstream Commons, Reflections Care Suites, and Northfield Hospital Hospice for their loving care. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6 from 4-7 PM at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, West 50th St and Vemon Ave. at Hwy 100, Edina. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Our Lady of Grace, 5071 Eden Ave S., Edina on Thursday, January 7, at 11 AM, with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
