Christiansen, Allan Peter Allan passed away March 9, 2008. Born in Olivia, MN on May 11, 1916 to Peter Christiansen and Pauline Gerde Christiansen, he grew up in South Minneapolis. Two siblings, Phyllis and Gerald, preceded him in death. He married Katherine Nelson of Mpls in 1940, a loving relationship that closed with Kay's death over two years ago. A product of the Great Depression, he worked with the CCC in Northern MN. He was wounded in Italy while serving in the Army in WWII. He developed skills in the marketing and sales of various housewares products, specializing in premium sales popular in the 50's and 60's. With these efforts, Allan and Kay lived at times in Pennsylvania, St. Louis, and Chicago, earning retirement in FL and summer relaxation in Ely, MN. He was proud of his two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas (Susan) and Steven (Julie). He loved his five grandchildren, Eric (Valentina), Jennifer (Ryan), and Tara (Jason), Tammy (Eric), and Aaron. He leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law (Vicki, Eleanor, and Earline), and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, all of whom have been most kind. His final years were in Mpls., and special thanks to Dr. Rosalie Siy and the health care staff at Friendship Village in Bloomington. A private interment is planned.
