Nelson, Joan I. Age 73, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007. Born in Alexandria MN. She was the daughter of the late Lewis & Mina Studlien. She lived her adult years in Mpls./St. Paul, MN, Rockford, IL and Ft. Wayne, IN. Joan is best remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, a loving mother/grandmother to her 5 children and 10 grandchildren, and a devoted friend. Everyone she touched felt her selfless love and unconditional concern rooted in her deep faith. She is survived by her children and their spouses, daughters, Laurie (Steven) Orlow of Ft. Wayne, IN, Denise (David) Eibel of Dallas, TX: and sons, Bruce (Hilary) Nelson of Mpls., Mark (Stefanie) Nelson of Los Gatos, CA and Joel (Elizabeth) Nelson of St. Paul; she is also survived by grandchildren, Jeremy, Nathan, and Anna Orlow, Matthew, Jordan and Daniel Eibel, Hayley Nelson, Brittany and Ryan Nelson, and Louis Nelson; her 3 sisters, LaVone Studlien, Marlene Studlien and Karen (Jerry) Becker, all of the Twin Cities; and former husband, Hubert Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis & Mina Studlien. Services 11 am Wednesday at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 West Wayne St., Ft. Wayne, IN. Services also 11 am Saturday, Jan. 5, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4100 Lyndale Ave So., Visitation 10-11 am at church. Interment Dawn Valley Memorial Park, Bloomington, MN. Arrangements by D.O.
