Johnson, Steven Mark, DDS 63 of Jordan, formerly of Edina and Litchfield, born Nov. 21, 1951, he passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2015. Steve died peacefully on Friday evening last, from complications after a 12 year battle with Multiple Myeloma. Raised in Litchfield, Steve decided not to enter the family business, Johnson Brothers Construction, and pursued a career in dentistry. After 3 years in private practice, Steve found a kinship with the men at Southdale Dental Associates where he was a partner from 1983 - 2006, when he chose to retire early due to the complications of the disease. In 2001, Steve enlisted in the army to better serve his country and her soldiers. He was commissioned as a Captain just weeks after the 9-11 terror attack on the US. Two years into his service he began experiencing fatigue and after a couple of broken bones and much testing, it was discovered that he had MM. Following his retirement from dentistry, Steve re-discovered his 'inner cowboy' and moved with his family to Jordan. He loved the beauty and peace of his little ranch and surveying the surrounding Minnesota River valley on his trusty quarter horse, Echo. Like his father, Abe Johnson, Steve loved his faith and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him as he was kind and generous to a fault. Steve leaves behind his wife, Katy, of 34 years; son, Luke (Carrie Rogers); daughters, Maggie and Caroline (Keith) Strang; grandsons, Jude Steven and Roen Beckett Keisler; brother, Phil (Vicki) Johnson; sisters, Suzanne and Claudia; 15 beloved nephews, 2 nieces, their spouses and children; and countless dear friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Abe Hesser and mother, Barbara Jane (Reynolds) Johnson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the Church of the Holy Family, 5900 W. Lake St., St. Louis Park. Interment at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Jordan. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, with a Rosary at 8 PM at Gearty-Delmore Park Chapel, 3960 Wooddale Ave (@ Excelsior Blvd) and again Wednesday one hour prior to Mass AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to The St. Paul Seminary or his home parish, Holy Family. Gearty-Delmore Park 952-926-1615
