Richardson, Richard Giles age 87, WØZDM, of Mpls., died Aug. 22, 2007. Preceded in death by brother, Harlow. Survived by loving wife of 61 years, Connie; and son, Dr. Stephen G. Richardson of Hillsborough, NC. Richard was a graduate of Central High School in 1938, a graduate of Dunwoody Institute and also attended the U of M. He served as a Chief Petty Officer with the US Navy during WW II. Dick was a radio technician for the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and managed the Radio/Electronics Systems group for the Dept. of Public Works, City of Mpls, retiring after 47 years. He was founder and Chief Engineer of KBEM FM Radio, Board of Education, Mpls. Dick was a member of the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials and a Fellow of the Radio Club of America. Memorials preferred to the American Heart Association. Funeral service 11 AM Monday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4801 France Ave S, Mpls. with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
