Chesness, Ryan 39, of Shakopee, Minnesota died on Saturday, May 18. He was born November 21, 1984 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota to Kent and Molly (Bjork) Chesness. He lived in many cities around the Twin Cities throughout his life and was a part of the Army National Guard when he was younger. Ryan loved many outdoor activities, even if he didn't get to do them nearly as much as he would have liked. He grew up playing baseball and was an incredible talent. He recently found his love of golf again after many years, so you would often find him on the course or picking the next hopeful tee time. He loved playing golf with his son Corey and would play with him and his girlfriend Deidre. He could also be found on the sidelines for sports over the years, softball and basketball games. Whether it was watching Kylie pitch for the first time (and doing amazing!), or seeing Jayla playing in a tournament, he loved watching the kids play their sports. Ryan also loved fishing, and for many years had a boat he would take to various lakes nearby. It was one of his favorite things to do in life. We'd like to imagine he's somewhere now having the fishing trip of a lifetime. Hopefully that trip has a casino nearby as well so he can play Blackjack, which he loved to do! Whether it was attending his kids concerts or field trips, going to sports events, or just playing video games at home, he was a father first and foremost and we will forever miss him. Ryan is survived by his two children, Corey Chesness and Kylie Chesness; his mother Molly (Bjork) Chesness (Kyle); his sister Kayla Chesness; his niece Jayla Phillips; his girlfriend Deidre Moore-Allen; and many other family members including cousins and aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his father Kent Chesness and his grandparents. A Memorial Service will be held at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 2 p.m., with refreshments and a brief gathering after. davidleefuneralhome.com
