John Michael (Mickey) McCollor, age 75, of Maple Grove, MN, passed away on May 19, 2024. He was born on August 31, 1948. Mickey was a loving, goofy, hard working husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Mickey served in the Army with honor from March 27, 1967, to December 7, 1968. After his military service, he pursued a career as a Baker and CNC programmer at Victory Tool. He attended Patrick Henry High School and later the University of Minnesota. Mickey enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, building, fixing, teaching his children/grand-children, and wood turning in his free time. Because he loved to teach, he donated his body to the U of M Anatomy Bequest Program. He is survived by his fabulous wife, Kristin, and their children: Super-Duper Sean (Penny), Breaking Bad Brent, Benevolent Brandon Gerhardt, Sassy Sarah Dhar, Judicious Jonathon (Jessie), Jubilant Justin and 22 loud, joyful, loving grandchildren and 9 ditto great-grandchildren. He is survived by brothers Mark, Danny (Cindy), Kevin and his sister Mary, sisters-in-law Kim (Sheldon) Halberg, Karen (Rocky) Richardson and many nieces and nephews. Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Barbra McCollor, as well as by Gene and Arlene Simons, Peter and Jane Simons, Jennifer Simons, Joshua Wellman, and Jordan Halberg. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 3, 2024, at Revive Church, 7849 West Broadway, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. The service will begin at 11:00AM with visitation one hour prior, followed by a light lunch in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the U of M Anatomy Bequest Program.
