Augustson, Donna M. 71, of Eagan, Minnesota, died peacefully at home May 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 11-year battle with breast cancer. Donna was born on April 8, 1953, in Princeton, MN, to Raymond and Lola (Marsolais) Herrboldt who farmed in what is now Dayton, MN. She graduated from Anoka High School in 1971 and attended St. Cloud State University before marrying David Augustson in 1972. They moved to Eagan, MN, and had sons Matthew and Jarrod. She loved being a stay-at-home mom and took a part-time job as a school aide while the boys were in elementary school and then did freelance word processing from home. Just days after taking a full-time job as an aide at Hmong College Prep Academy in 2008, she was given the responsibility for the school's library, which under her care, grew from a few boxes of donated books into a media center which contained more than 25,000 titles by the time she retired in 2015. She reached every student and the entire staff with her unforgettable love and infectious smile. She proudly became a "Hmong-American" and the Mom of the HCPA family. Donna is survived by David, her husband of 51 years; sons Matt (Jen) of Edina and Jarrod (Tracee) of Eagan; grandchildren, Annika Augustson and Marit Augustson, and Kailee Heinen and Nolan Heinen; sisters Dolores (Bill) Ruckel, Judith (Corwin) Kronenberg; brothers Larry (Rita) Herrboldt, Chet (Karen) Herrboldt, and Leroy Herrboldt; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Lola Herrboldt, brother Raymond Jr. (Butchie) Herrboldt, sister-in-law Lori Herrboldt, father-in-law Marshall Augustson, mother-in-law Mona Augustson, and sister-in-law Luella Ann Augustson. A Celebration of Donna's Life will be held on Mon., June 3, 2024, 11 A.M.; visitation at 10 A.M. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 3930 Rahn Road, Eagan, MN 55122. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church for the support of their livestreamed ministry or the American Cancer Society.
