Seubert, Elaine M. Age 96 of Deephaven, formerly of Minnetonka, Plymouth and St. Louis Park. Passed away May 14th. Born June 19, 1927 the only child of Fred and Edith Benson. A full- blooded Swede, she grew up in South Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School in 1945. Longtime member (70+) years of Westwood Lutheran Church of which she was a part of many circles. She also worked at the Maid of Scandinavia and Sweet Celebrations for over 40 years and belonged to the Swedish Institute and Women's Club of St. Louis Park. Elaine was the consummate hostess, loving to entertain both family and friends. She was an excellent cook and baker - her recipe box was overflowing with great meals and desserts. Also, as an avid card player, she belonged to many bridge clubs and, in later years, played 500 with her neighbors. Elaine also enjoyed fun filled outings and parties on their boat and later at their cabin on Trillium Lake in Hackensack, MN. Her passion though, was for her family, starting with when she met the love of her life Earl in 1946 on a blind date and marrying him June 5, 1948. They were together for 53 years before his death in 2001. Her love for her children was unprecedented, always there for them and willing to listen. Preceded in death by husband, Earl and son, Tom. Survived by daughters, Sharon Smith and Carol (Greg) Clark; daughter in law, Stephanie Seubert; grandchildren, Kari McMurrough, Cristin (Tony) Caruso, Katie Weierke, Tommy (Ashley) Clark, Stephen Seubert, Amy (Eric) Dawson and 11 great grandchildren. She will be forever missed but we know how happy she is to be reunited with her "Honey," her son, and her large group of great friends. Special thanks to Deephaven Woods staff and Brighton Hospice for their care. Memorial service Friday June 14th at 11:00AM with visitation one half hour prior. Memorials preferred to Westwood Lutheran Church. Private interment. Washburn-McReavy.com Hillside Chapel 612-781-1999 2610 19th Ave. N.E., Mpls
