Shavlik, Gene Joseph loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away at 80 years young on January 28, 2024 at the Mayo Hospital in Arizona, living with Esophageal Cancer for 15 months. Gene was a life-long learner sharing his financial acumen to help hundreds of clients each year achieve their business and personal financial goals. He brilliantly made complex financial rules and regulation easy to decipher, earning an unprecedented level of respect for his guidance and wisdom. He had a knack for creating conversation and could talk for hours about anything, especially when it came to taxes. Gene loved listening to music and traveled extensively with his wife and family. His demeanor of unparalleled zeal for life was contagious as he planned, explored and celebrated everything life had to offer. Survived by wife, Wendy; children-Ross, Bobbi (Drew), Luke; step-children Ryan (Amy) Carruth, Kim (Dan) Buck, Scott (Kari) Muyres and 6 grandchildren Ellie and Gwen Carruth, Peighton and Tucker(TJ) Buck, Dylan and Leah Muyres. Predeceased by his wife Penny, parents Velma and Archie and brother Wally. Gene will be missed by so many. We welcome you to join us for a celebration of life held on June 8, 2024 at the Wayzata Community Church, 125 Wayzata Blvd E, Wayzata, MN 55391. Visitation from 1:30-2pm, Service at 2pm with fellowship and a light lunch following the service.
