Hake, Rodney Philip age 91, long time resident of Bloomington and Burnsville, MN passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024. Rod was born May 15, 1932, in Frederic, WI to Philip Gotfred Hake and Alice Selma Hake. He first attended school in Chisholm, MN and graduated from Alexandria, MN high school. He then attended Gustavus Adolphus College. In1953, he enlisted in the US Air Force. After flight simulator technical school in Biloxi, MS, he was assigned to the Air Force base in Minneapolis, MN. Later he transferred to Grandview Air Force Base, south of Kansas City, MO. Retiring from the Air Force in 1957. He stayed in Kansas City and worked for Commercial Credit Equipment Co. in sales and collections. He met the love of his life, Avis, at a young people's church group in Kansas City and married at the same church. They moved to Alexandria, MN in 1961 and he worked at the family business until it burned, then moved to Bloomington, MN. He next worked for St. Paul Cos., then American Hardware Mutual Ins. Where he retired in 1992. Rod and Avis loved square dancing for 20 years with the Bloomington Swirlers. After Avis retired a few years later, they became AZ "snowbirds". Rod enjoyed photography and the computer. Survived by his wife Avis, daughter Marcy (Frank) Markovich and son Gary(Mary), and grandchildren Bradnon and Mackenzie. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM on May 30, 2024 at White Funeral Home, 12804 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville, MN 55337, with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Interment at Pleasant View Cemetery.
