Erickson, rubye Anne Age 90 of Golden Valley previously from Edina. Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Emery Erickson. Survived by her stepdaughters Janice Miller and Nanci (Jeff) Shapiro. Grandchildren Noah (Jennifer Saunders) Miller, Carissa Miller, Beth (Scott Boscapomi) Shapiro and Dan (Nicole) Shapiro. Also, by great grandchildren Emily and Anna Shapiro, Solomon and Benjamin Boscapomi and Meyer Miller. She had a graduate degree in Family Social Studies and identified herself as a Home Economist. She taught in Wayzata schools for a number of years, won a contest to cook with Julia Child and taught gourmet cooking classes from home. She was self-employed as a Color Me Beautiful Consultant and for many years was a Life Coach. rubye and Emery Erickson married in 1973. Traveling was especially important to them. They enjoyed exchanging homes with people around the world through Friendship Force and attended various Elder Hostel International experiences. They were also avid skiers and served for ten years on the Ski Patrol at Welch Village. rubye was a knitter supporting the Mother Bear Project which sent the knitted bears to Africa for children affected by AIDS. She loved to dress glamorously in sequins which earned her the nickname Glitzy Grammie. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Entertaining family, friends and 'friends to be' was a joy for her and a chance to use her cooking skills. A Celebration of rubye's Life will be held in her honor on May 10, 2024, at 2:00pm at Covenant Living, Golden Valley.
