Richards, Brenda Lou (Forthun) July 9th, 1963 - April 26th, 2024 Brenda L. Richards, age 60, passed away surrounded lovingly by family due to health issues related to stomach cancer, which she was diagnosed with in August 2023. She was born in Austin, MN to Sheldon and Beverly Forthun, and had two brothers, Jeff and Joel Forthun. She graduated from Shakopee High School in 1981 and attended UW-River Falls from 1981-1985. She married Thomas Richards in 1989, and they had two sons, Robert and Daniel. She worked predominantly in the insurance industry, but her favorite position she had was that of Church Secretary at her longtime church, Glory of Christ in Plymouth, MN. She was very strong in her faith, and was incredibly kind, caring, and loving to anyone that knew her. She always put others before herself and was remarkably selfless. If you were family or a friend of hers, she loved and cared for you, and you felt that in every interaction. She loved her husband, Tom, and her sons, Robbie and Danny - her "boys" - more than anything in the world, and she was overjoyed that both of them got married three months apart, to Kaitlin (Robbie's wife) and Maria (Danny's wife), whom she loved like they were her own daughters. She will be incredibly missed but left an amazing example of how you should live life. Preceded in death by her parents, Sheldon and Beverly Forthun, and brother-in-law Michael Richards (Marcia). She is survived by her husband, Tom; sons Robert (Kaitlin) and Daniel (Maria); brothers Jeff (Diane) and Joel (Barbara); in-laws Bruce (Mary), Paul Richards and Susie Rell; nieces and nephews, and cousins. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2024 from 5-8 pm, and the funeral will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 4th, 2024, with a visitation preceding the funeral at 10 am. All will take place at Glory of Christ Church, 4040 MN-101, Plymouth, MN 55446. Burial at Groveland Cemetery (family only). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Animal Humane Society, Golden Valley, in honor of her love of animals.
