Hoeschen, Virginia Anne (Scott) "Gin, Ginny" 85, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 after a long struggle with dementia. She was born on October 7, 1938 in Rochester, MN and grew up in Chatfield, MN. Gin is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Richard Hoeschen¸ son Timothy Hoeschen, daughter Heidi (Keith) Jackson, granddaughters Elizabeth Jackson and Eleanor Jackson, brother Donald (Rosanne Licciardi) Scott, sister Rosemary Scott, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Elizabeth Scott, and brother Robert Scott. Gin graduated from UW Stout in 1961 with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics. She began working as a Home Economist with Northern States Power and eventually worked for Pillsbury and General Mills. She inherited her skill and love for cooking and baking from her mother. Gin and Dick moved to Burnsville in 1968 and became involved in the community. She enjoyed watching and cheering her children in various sports. Gin loved to travel, play bridge and golf, and dance. She was especially happy to be a grandmother and loved her granddaughters beyond measure. She was very active in the community including the Burnsville Jaycees and volunteering as a Travelers Assistant at the airport. She maintained lifelong friendships with Stout, Jaycee and Pillsbury work friends, with annual reunions with each group. She was a joy to be with. The family would like to thank the great people at Ebenezer Ridges Adult Day Center, Bee Hive Homes of Lakeville and Grace Hospice for their care and friendship. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter of the Alzheimer Association (alz.org/…). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 Wednesday morning, May 1, 2024 at Mary Mother of the Church in Burnsville. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass and a lunch will follow.
