Fabry, Mary A. of Apple Valley, MN, passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2024, at age 88. Mary was born on July 14, 1935, in Green Bay, WI, to Ernest and Dora Vandermuss. She spent the first 20 years of her life in Green Bay where she met and married her late husband, Myron (Mike) Fabry. Together they raised five children while moving many times for Mike's career with IBM. Two of those moves brought them to Rochester, MN, in 1963 and again in 1968 where they stayed until all the children had graduated from High School. Each of these moves provided Mary an opportunity to redecorate and design their homes which she had a great passion and talent for. In 1979, Mary and Mike moved to Chicago, IL, where Mary fulfilled her dream of attending college and earned a degree in Interior Design. Shortly after graduating they moved to Apple Valley, MN, where she created Mary A. Fabry Interiors which she owned and operated for many years. Mary had many talents and interests over the years including gardening, tennis, gourmet cooking, design, ceramics, dancing, theater and socializing with the many groups she was a member of. She was a devoted Green Bay Packer fan and could be heard enthusiastically shouting "Go Pack Go" during every Packer game. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Mike who lost his battle with ALS in 2001; parents; sisters, Shirley Vandermuss and Barbara Schmidt; son-in-law, Harley Mahler; daughter-in-law, Casey Fabry; infant grandson, David Mahler; and granddaughter, Heather Fabry. She is survived by her children: Sherry Mahler of Hibbing, MN; Mark (Sharon) Fabry of Eagan, MN; Vicki (Mark) Majorowicz of Rochester, MN; Michael (Lisa Anderson) Fabry of Apple Valley, MN; Paula (Greg Mallon) Simi of Brownton, MN; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; Harlow Case, her special friend and companion; many nieces, nephews, family and friends. A Celebration of Life will take place 10:00 AM - 12 Noon, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley, MN, followed by a luncheon from 12:00-1:00.
